New Albany Symphony Patrons,
Unfortunately, due to the recent outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19), we have no choice but to cancel the performances of O-H-I-O scheduled for March 14/15 and Joanna Frankel Plays Higdon April 25/26. This outbreak has led the New Albany Plain Local School District to prohibit outside groups from using their buildings, including the McCoy Center for the Arts where we perform. In addition, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has issued an order limiting mass gatherings of greater than 100 people to try to control community spread of the virus. While we are disappointed, we are more concerned for the health and well-being of our patrons, our musicians, our staff and our volunteers and believe that this is the best course of action.
We hope to present O-H-I-O and Joanna Frankel Plays Higdon at a later date, and will communicate new performance information by email, on our website and on social media.
Cancelling a concert on such short notice will have significant financial consequences for New Albany Symphony. For those patrons who are able to do so, donating your tickets will help us cover costs for our professional mentors, music rental, program printing, and hall rental fees that have already been incurred. Ticket donations are tax deductible. Please let us know if you wish to donate your tickets and we are happy to send you a receipt. As new information becomes available, those who have purchased tickets through Ticketmaster or CBUS Arts that do not wish to donate their tickets back will be contacted directly with exchange or refund options. Please note: CAPA cannot refund tickets purchased through other channels such as secondary ticket sellers. We will make every effort to satisfy patrons as quickly as possible but ask for patience as we work through this complex process.
We greatly appreciate your understanding and generosity at this difficult time.
