Artist-In-Residence

Angela Gage, born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, is inspired by the quiet beauty found in everyday life. Her work is driven by a desire to capture fleetign moments – whether the serenity of a landscape, the character of a place, or the warmth in a loved one’s smile. Through her paintings, she seeks to preserve these moements so that they may be experienced and remembered by future generations.

Angela attended Columbus College of Art and Design on a fine arts scholarship and has studied with several nationally known artists, such as Steven Walker, Stan Sperlak and Lyn Asselta. For newarly three decades, she has shared her passion ofor art through teaching at local institutions, including the Columbus College of Art and Design and the McConnell Arts Center. She has also offered workshops at the Delaware County Cultureal Arts Center and the Ohio Designer Craftsman Museum.

Working in oils, pastels and miniature formats, Angela’s paintings reflect both careful observation and an emotional connection to her subjects. Her work has been recognized across the country and has received multiple awards. Recently she had a pastel acquired for the Ohio Arts Council’s private collection. She is an active member of the Ohio Plein Air Society and th eOhio Pastel Artist League.

Angela offers portrait commissions and private lessons in her home studio in Galena, Ohio, along the banks of the little Walnut Creek near the Hoover Nature Preserve. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, walking in the woods, listening to live music, camping and reading.
