Luis Biava, conductor

It’s a high-flying day for music at the McCoy! Join 10TV News Anchor Angela Ann and members of the New Albany Symphony as we take you back to the year 1903 when two brothers named Wilbur and Orville flew the first self-powered airplane. The orchestra recreates the sounds of plane engines and the excitement of flight in this fascinating story of perseverance. Also included in this performance, our young, inspiring student concerto competition winners Alejandro Orta (Senior Division) and Sonya Moomaw (Junior Division).

PROGRAM:

Williams – Flying Theme from the movie “E.T.”

Rodriguez – The Story of Wilbur and Orville Wright

Dvořák –  Cello Concerto in B minor, Op. 104, B. 191, 3rd movement – Sonya Moomaw, cello
