Tori Cravens, soprano, is a lifelong singer and musician. Coming from an immensely musical family, her father composed an original song the day she was born; a fitting entrance into the world. As a founding member of the New Albany Symphony Chorus, Tori has performed such great works as Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Faure’s Requiem, Mahler’s Second Symphony, Forrest’s Requiem for the Living, and Handel’s Messiah in its entirety. Tori has also performed multiple solos and small ensembles as a part of this group, including Copland’s Old American Songs and the debut of Dr. Michael Martin’s original piece, My Lord Comes. She’s had the privilege of touring Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic to perform classical works in venues like St. Steven’s Cathedral in Vienna. Tori is also a member of the Choral Schola at New Albany United Methodist church, where she performs a variety of sacred music on a weekly basis.
Prior to her current choral work, Tori was a vocal student under Paula Trybus for seven years, where she built her repertoire. She was a member and co-president of an acapella club at The Ohio State University, where she was accepted into the School of Music for flute performance.
Tori made her vocal debut at the age of seven when she joined the children’s choir at her church. She went on to sing with other choirs in the church over the following fifteen years, including the Voces Resurrectionum a capella choir. When she isn’t singing, Tori is a developer for an indie video game where she crafts narratives brimming with suspense and emotion.
