Student Concerto winner in the Junior Division,Erik Jacoby is a 17 year old honors student at New Albany High School. He has studied piano from the age of 5 under Kathleen Sadoff and Nina Polonsky.
Erik has won numerous competitions and scholarships. His recent achievements include winning 1st prize in the Denison University International Piano Competition, the OhioMTA Piano senior solo and duet, CMTA Achievement Awards, Piano Star International, MTNA State competition for senior solo and duets, and the scholarship award with the Chopin Foundation. Erik attended numerous piano festivals hosted by Mannes School of Music, Oberlin and Vivace in Wilmington NC. Erik also participated in the 2024 Southeastern Piano Festival, where was a finalist in the Arthur Fraser International competition. In the spring of 2025, Erik won the 25th International Young Musicians Festival hosted by AADGT and was invited to perform in Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Japan, and Carnegie Hall in New York City, US. Erik is a recipient of a Gulf Coast Symphony Award with a solo recital at the Music and Arts Community Center in Fort Myers, Florida and a concerto performance with the Gulf Coast Symphony during a future concert season. In addition to competing, Erik enjoys sharing his musical passion with others; he is the co-chair of the Columbus chapter of DaCapo, a volunteer organization that brings classical pianists to area senior homes. Erik loves seeing the joy that his passion for the piano can bring. He plans to carry on his love for music throughout college and beyond, continuing to work hard and perform.
In addition to music, Erik is also a competitive tennis player. He likes to compete in USTA
tournaments and plays for his high school varsity tennis team.
