Weather Info

Updated July 11, 2021

We have made the difficult decision to postpone tonight’s concert due to the threat of severe weather at concert time and the difficulty of setting up sound equipment on already-saturated ground. We will combine tonight’s concert with the Scenic Overlook concert scheduled for 6:30 on Thursday, July 15, so you can still hear our Strike up the Band program. Fortunately, the weather looks much more promising for that day. Dairy Queen has graciously agreed to move the ice cream social to 6:00 that day and will be providing complimentary blizzards! We hope you can join us then. Please note that Thursday’s concert will not take place at the Library Garden. The Scenic Overlook is located in the eastern portion of Rose Run Park across from the New Albany Middle School and the new Hinson Amphitheater. There is plenty of parking in Market Square and on the school campus.

Our Scenic Overlook concerts are free events, so ticket holders for tonight’s concert can use their tickets at our next Library Garden Concert – String Serenade – on Sunday, August 8 at 8:00 with an ice cream social starting at 7:00. No further action is necessary; your name will be on a list at the gate. Ticket holders for tonight’s concert can also request a refund or donate the value of your tickets back to the symphony and we will send you a receipt for your donation. Please email Ann Sproule at for a refund or to donate your tickets.

Thank you for your understanding  – the safety of our patrons and musicians is very important to us. We hope you can join us Thursday!

Heather Garner and Ann Sproule
